HAHN LOCKS DOWN ENDORSEMENTS FROM EVERY ELECTED LEADER IN SOUTH GATE

South Gate Leaders Rally Behind Hahn, Citing Her Record of Consensus Building as a Testament to what is Sorely Needed in Washington

SAN PEDRO, CA- Catapulting her campaign forward and continuing to soar ahead of her opponent in the race to secure important endorsements, today Congresswoman Janice Hahn won endorsements from South Gate City Councilmember Jorge Morales and South Gate City Treasurer Maria Bernal. Today’s endorsements are in addition to her previous endorsements from South Gate Mayor Maria Davila, Vice Mayor Bill De Witt, City Clerk Carmen Avalos, along with Councilmembers Gil Hurtado and Henry Gonzalez.

“Throughout her career as a local LA City Councilwoman and now as a member of Congress, Janice Hahn has always been dedicated to accomplishing meaningful goals and passing legislation that actually helps the people she represents,” said Councilmember Jorge Morales.

“She’s not only a troubleshooter, but she’s someone who thinks practically and knows how to bring people together from different party’s, in order to get things done. Her blend of leadership coupled with her unique ability to build consensus among differing views is a exactly what we need more of in Washington, D.C., and that’s why I’m pleased to endorse her for re-election.”

“South Gate deserves a representative in Congress who will stand up for the values and the issues that we care deeply about, like more good jobs, better schools, a safe environment, and increased access to quality and affordable healthcare,” said Treasurer Maria Bernal. “I am proud to strongly endorse Congresswoman Hahn, because she has proven herself as someone we can trust to deliver real results for our city.”

“I am pleased to have the support of so many important local leaders in South Gate, and I will continue Congresswoman Linda Sanchez’s tradition of standing up for South Gate, and focusing on important issues like job creation, speeding up our economic recovery by providing aid to small businesses, investing in our schools and infrastructure, and ensuring safe neighborhoods by making sure we have enough cops and firefighters on our streets. And in Washington, I’ll continue my efforts to break through the deep partisan divide and develop common-sense solutions that can build broad support in the Congress.”

Beyond today’s endorsement, Hahn has been picking up steam by winning endorsements this week from the California Federation of Teachers (CFT), Compton Latino Chamber of Commerce, and over 79% of the delegate vote at the California Democratic Party’s ‘Pre-Endorsement,’ giving Hahn a recommendation for the Party’s official endorsement.
