Janice Hahn is committed to defending the principles of free speech and non-discrimination, and that commitment certainly extends to the Internet. She will fight efforts by big corporations to control online access, and work to preserve the Internet as a free and open platform. Without net neutrality, all but the largest online businesses would suffer and new Internet start-ups would be at a serious disadvantage. Destroying the important principle of net neutrality would change the innovative and entrepreneurial nature of the Internet, and would be disastrous to California’s $23 billion online industry.
