San Francisco Young Dems Endorse Councilwoman Janice Hahn for Lieutenant Governor

San Francisco Young Democrats over the weekend voted to support Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn’s bid to become California’s next lieutenant governor.

“Janice Hahn took the time to come to San Francisco and address our concerns. She did not disappoint.” said Maxwell Szabo, President of SFYD. “She addressed issues that resonate with young people, including college fee increases, the environment and healthcare.”

Janice Hahn Holds Double-Digit Lead Over Primary Opponent in Lieutenant Governor’s Race

Los Angeles City Councilwoman Janice Hahn holds a double-digit lead over her Democratic primary opponent in the race for lieutenant governor, a survey released today shows.

The poll, conducted by former longtime Los Angeles Times Poll Director Susan Pinkus, who is now an independent pollster, asked likely Democratic primary voters whether they favored Hahn or state Sen. Dean Florez, of Shafter. After being read factual paragraph statements (below) about both candidates, Hahn was favored by 40 percent, Florez by 28 percent. Thirty-three percent were undecided.

Los Angeles City Controller Wendy Greuel today announced her support for City Councilwoman Janice Hahn’s bid to become California’s next Lieutenant Governor.

“Janice Hahn’s experience, background and temperament makes her the most qualified to be next Lieutenant Governor of this great state,” said Greuel, who served with Hahn on the City Council. “From her economic development background at the Port of Los Angeles and her tireless work to bring tourist dollars into the state to help revive our economy, Janice is ready to lead.”
